Workshop Highlights

  • Professional and Lived Experience: Participants will hear firsthand accounts from a PACFA accredited facilitator, who has worked in the field with supporting a wide range of clients recovering from trauma. Our facilitator also has lived experience with trauma recovery, providing invaluable insights into the personal effects of trauma and the importance of a supportive environment.

  • Case Studies: Engage with real-world case studies that illustrate successful implementations of trauma-informed practices. These examples will highlight both challenges and effective strategies for fostering resilience and recovery.

  • Neuroscience of Trauma: Gain an understanding of the neurological underpinnings of trauma. Learn how trauma affects brain function and behavior, and discover ways to mitigate its effects through informed practices.

  • Practical Strategies: The workshop will equip participants with practical tools to support staff, students, and clients in creating a truly trauma-informed environment. This includes: Developing trusting relationships, Creating safe and predictable spaces, Implementing positive supports and emotional regulation strategies,  and engaging in self-care practices for staff to prevent burnout and secondary trauma.
