Meet Alex
PACFA Registered Psychotherapist | GradDipCouns. | MCouns&PscyhTh (Candidate).
Alex is a passionate and compassionate psychotherapist with a diverse experience in the field. Currently completing her Master’s Degree in Psychotherapy, Alex’s journey began a decade ago with volunteering in community recovery settings, where she developed a profound curiosity and deep love for supporting others with the complexities of the human experience.

Through the integration of lived experience, professional practice and a strong theoretical background Alex became passionate about addressing the gaps between theory and application of trauma informed care. Alex has worked in a wide variety of settings including private rehabilitation facilities, community corrections facilities, crisis support, eating disorder treatment providers, AOD & substance misuse programs and private practice. Her commitment to continuous learning and professional growth led her to work in private residential facilities as a group facilitator and individual therapist providing high quality therapeutic support to individuals in recovery. Alex has worked as the Clinician for government-funded community Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) programs where she played a pivotal role in designing and implementing treatment plans that address holistic and bio-psychosocial aspects of addiction. Alex’s background in early childhood care and education played a vital role in informing her understanding on the impacts of early life experiences and on the developing brain.

Alex's passion for education started long ago, and continues to be a driving force in all aspects of her life. Being the daughter of a teacher and her initial study of primary education led to a love of learning, a value which continues to inform her continued professional development as a therapist.
Alex's natural warmth and engaging style integrates current research from the fields of modern medical science, neuroscience, psychology and psychotherapy in a way that digestible, enjoyable and relevant to a diverse range of people. She is passionate about therapy that supports genuine change and providing education that demystify's trauma-informed care.
